Even though they don't match, I don't have any problems playing multichannel surround when watching live TV, recorded TV, playing DVDs or BDs (MKV files). The only thing I can think of is some Windows update. So that doesnt work. Really frustrating!

I have three monitors set up (1 and 2 are regular while the 3rd one is a Sony Bravia LCD TV). I mark this now solved. No idea why it worked for a year and then stopped, but the solution was to change how the audio is handled.
