The first thing I'd try to play after a WMC restart would loop about the first 1s of audio while it played about the first 10s of video. Movies are running in media player smoothly.Any more ideas how to solve this issue? Thanks in advance, #re: Windows 7 - Media Center Video Error by GJ at 11/29/2009 1:41 AM Not This obviously is an audio issue. THANK YOU ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I'd done was remove myself from the homegroup on the machine... HOWEVER, all audio passthrough is lost. Thank you SO much. I reset the video resolution and the problem is solved #re: Windows 7 - Media Center Video Error by Bob Bobson at 12/27/2012 7:54 PM I had this problem after upgrading

Anway back on topic I went back to my HDMI audio device without the Media Center video error. But any previously recorded content was unwatchable. I do have my HTPC connected via HDMI to my AVR so I was concerned with not getting 5.1 since the Audio Control Panel Settings were set to 2 channel. Bugger.

The HDMI driver I am running with successfully is dated 7/14/2010.

I solved this irksome problem by unchecking the "Use Exclusively" box in the audio driver properties. Recordings & DVDs would play ok over the VGA, but not over HDMI. Other option -- not sure is going to work -- test from safe mode or VGA mode. Make no mistake Ceton is the greatest tuners I have so far but if it is THE only tuner in your home, I think you are risking quite a bit there.
