It did require SMTP setting to be 587 and did require Authentication to be enabled. Your problem isn't about your SSL or authentication settings, it's about not being able to reach the server at all. If you have other anti-virus software, the process is probably similar. Now, as a test, please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, then remove AVG from your computer accordingly.
