well LISTEN NOW!!! On restart I selected to start to Last Known Good Configuration. During the process I also received the No Disk message each time I changed a drive letter. based on this article i stuck an SD card into the SD card reader built into my computer and voila.

If you don't use the drives, another trick is to just remove the drives letters... Course now I gotta reinstall the printer software, but that's okay.Thanks for the input. I have XP SP2, hopefully it's not much different for SP1. I appreciate your honesty without trying to sell me something that I am not even sure it will solve my issue. Also, after I rebooted my ErrorMode reverted back to: 0X00000000 (0) so that I had to manually change the value data to (2) again.
